Local Talent Management Leader Assumes Ownership of Wichita Falls Office
Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that its Wichita Falls office, formerly owned by Jeanie Boyd, is now under the leadership of accomplished local staffing and human resources expert Brandon Cook. Cook assumed ownership of the office in early April.
“Having lived in the Wichita area for many years, I am excited to step in and assist both job seekers and businesses in my community,” said Cook. “I initially met Jeanie through our local business group, Resource Wichita Falls, where she approached me to discuss her retirement and the future of her Spherion office. As someone who was looking to exit the corporate world, becoming a part of Spherion’s network of locally owned staffing and recruiting businesses was the perfect next step in my career journey.”
Cook has 20 years of experience as a corporate human resources manager for a major manufacturing company. He managed HR and EHS functions across three locations and oversaw 1,200 employees. His role encompassed everything from recruitment and policy maintenance to conflict resolution and safety compliance – all areas of expertise that will come into play as he leads the Wichita Falls office. Managing a team of 10 HR assistants, he collaborated closely with upper management to problem-solve and ensure operational excellence. Notably, his responsibilities extended to an additional plant in Puerto Rico, showcasing his versatility and commitment to organizational success.
“It is important to me that my business is left in the right hands. When I met Brandon, I knew he is the right person for the job. Brandon is a people person – he knows the town, and he understands the dynamics of the area,” said Jeanie Boyd, former owner of Spherion Wichita Falls. “Spherion has greatly impacted my life over the past 32 years, and I am thrilled to see Brandon grow as a leader and continue to build upon our office’s legacy while he continues to grow and build his own.”
Spherion Wichita Falls joined the brand’s franchise network in 1992 and was founded by Jeanie Boyd and her late husband, Bruce. Jeanie has nurtured a successful 32-year career in the staffing and recruiting industry. As she retires, she will work alongside the office and Cook to ensure a seamless transition of ownership.
“With his unique career experiences and eagerness to grow, we are thrilled to welcome Brandon to the Spherion community,” said Kathy George, president of Spherion. “Of course, we will miss having Jeanie as part of our franchise community. However, we’re pleased that the Wichita Falls business community will continue to benefit from the leadership and business acumen of another local community leader.”
Each Spherion office enriches its community by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day—and when successful, the office and its investments flow back into the neighborhoods it serves. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
