Tenured Market Director to Continue Exceptional Staffing Solutions in Minnesota

Mankato and Duluth, Minn. – Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that its Mankato and Duluth offices are now under the leadership of Leah Macgregor, who has held various roles with Spherion in Minnesota for nearly 14 years. Macgregor will officially take over the ownership responsibilities from the long-time franchise owner, Ann Miller, this October.

Born and raised in Greater Mankato, Macgregor's journey at Spherion began in 2011 when she joined the team as a temporary staffer. Over the years, she has climbed the ranks, taking on various roles that allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the staffing industry. Known for her tenacity and passion, Macgregor is eager to lead her team in exploring new opportunities for growth and collaboration. She actively participates in the Greater Mankato and Duluth Area Chambers of Commerce in addition to volunteering with the Minnesota Valley Action Council and Southern Minnesota Area Human Resource Association (SMHARA).

“After my first day with Ann at Spherion, I knew that I was hooked on the staffing and recruiting industry. Laura, another mentee of Ann’s, and I like to joke that she basically raised us, professionally, but I truly wouldn’t be here today without her support,” said Macgregor. “Her mentorship has been instrumental in my growth, and I am fully committed to upholding the high standards she set while expanding our mission to connect job seekers with meaningful opportunities.”

Under Miller’s guidance, the Mankato and Duluth offices have become vital resources for local job seekers and businesses alike. Her extensive career in the staffing industry spanned over 35 years and established Spherion’s strong reputation in the region. Miller’s active engagement in community initiatives, including roles with the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Rotary International has further solidified Spherion’s presence as a community partner.

“I have complete confidence in Leah’s ability to thrive in this new role and find new growth opportunities. Everyone knows and loves Leah, and she’s already been leading our Duluth team for several years. This transition is really seamless for us,” remarked Miller. “Leah’s ascent through the ranks is a remarkable story of determination and dedication. I look forward to supporting her and our staff as they embark on this exciting new chapter.”

Each Spherion office enriches its community by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day—and when successful, the office and its investments flow back into the neighborhoods it serves. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
