ATLANTA – Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) recently announced the appointment of Afton Hartung, a staffing industry veteran and seasoned sales professional, to the new leadership role of Vice President of Sales. In her role, Hartung will spearhead the development of the organization’s comprehensive sales strategy by collaborating with Spherion’s franchise network to help them drive new business opportunities. She will also help ensure the alignment of business processes with field execution to foster Spherion’s continued growth and evolution.

Hartung’s career is grounded in general staffing. She began her professional journey in 2010 with Randstad, the parent company of Spherion, initially working in the field to gain hands-on recruiting experience. She quickly advanced to the role of Vice President of Market Sales for the Midwest Region, a position she excelled in for nearly nine years. During this tenure, Hartung distinguished herself as a dynamic leader, consistently propelling her region to stellar performance and transforming underperforming territories into engines of profitable growth. Following Randstad, Hartung broadened her expertise by taking on a role in the learning and development division with Spherion. She then transitioned to a leadership role at an insurance-focused employment agency before returning to Spherion in this new capacity.
