Spherion’s 2021 Franchise Owner of the Year Takes Ownership of Johnson City Office
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that the Johnson City office is now under the leadership of existing Spherion franchisees Molly and Joe Keebler. The Keeblers took over ownership responsibilities of the office on August 29.
The Johnson City office has been a staple in the community since it opened in the summer of 1996 under the ownership of Carol Trahan, who passed away earlier this year. Trahan was a pillar in the Johnson City community for more than 25 years. She served as Johnson City Chamber of Commerce’s first female president and engaged with the community in myriad ways, receiving recognition for her dedication to serving those around her.
“Carol was an inspiring leader and fantastic person, and her loss is felt both here in Johnson City and throughout the entire Spherion community,” said Molly, who currently serves as Spherion’s national Franchise Advisory Board president. “Our goal is to continue her legacy in Johnson City by bringing a refreshed level of customer service to clients and candidates alike. We have such a passion for helping match jobseekers with rewarding work opportunities and look forward to supporting folks across Washington, Carter and Sullivan counties.”
Current franchise owners of the Spherion office in Asheville, North Carolina, the Keeblers originally considered purchasing the Johnson City office back in [YEAR]. At the time, Trahan was not yet ready to move on from the business but was in full support of Molly and Joe assuming ownership responsibilities. In addition to serving on Spherion’s Franchise Advisory Board, Molly was also the recipient of Spherion’s Franchise Owner of the Year award in 2021 for spearheading the Asheville office’s year-over-year growth and swiftly deploying her proactive worst-case scenario business plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m from a town very similar to Johnson City and see the growth potential we have to support the local workforce here,” Molly added. “Plus, we have innovative incentive-based campaigns on the horizon that I’m confident will engage the community and help us continue to get Johnson City back to work!”
As a former English composition teacher, Molly knows how to generate excitement for work in younger generations and believes in teaching career readiness. She and Joe managed their own real estate business for 15 years prior to joining Spherion and look forward to leveraging the skills they’ve gained to support the Johnson City office.
“Molly and Joe are two of our most accomplished franchisees, and I couldn’t think of a better duo to help us revitalize our presence in Johnson City,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, president of Spherion. “Carol made an incredible impact on all of us, and we look forward to supporting the Keeblers as they honor and continue her legacy.”

Each Spherion franchisee enriches their communities by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day—and when they’re successful together, their investments flow back into the neighborhoods where they live and work. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
The Spherion Johnson City office will remain open at its current on-site location in John Deere, located at 1750 Hal Henard Road in Greeneville.
