The Welder is responsible for performing fabrication, repair, and maintenance welding at the assigned site. This includes identifying casting defects, excavating, and executing weld repairs. The role also involves reclaiming fits as required in the DCIQ process and supporting fabrication activities such as pipe and structural welding.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to safety protocols and utilize Stop Work Authority when necessary.
Conduct Pre-Job briefs with team leads and peers to clarify job expectations.
Follow routers and assembly procedures to accurately repair and assemble rotating equipment.
Provide input on work process improvements and efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturer specifications to plan work.
Utilize appropriate welding methods, including TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
Maintain welder continuity logs and necessary certifications.
Execute precision plumbing and pipe-fitting welds.
Excavate and repair castings while reclaiming fits.
Design, develop, and reverse-engineer piping systems and fixtures for reassembly and welding.
Verify the quality of finished work, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Collaborate with machinists, assemblers, and production planners to troubleshoot and improve repair processes.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure tools and machines are in good condition.
Communicate job-related issues clearly to peers and supervisors.
Work efficiently within designated timeframes for manufacturing processes.
Assist in the development of new tools and hardware as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
Operate cranes, lifting devices, and forklifts safely.
Comply with all company policies related to safety, time management, and productivity.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Excellent communication skills for shift handovers and job status updates.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.

Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
Experience working with heavy metals such as stainless steel (300 & 400 series), Inconel, and carbon steel.
Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and stick welding with necessary certifications.
Certification to work under ASME Section IX standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and assembly checklists.
Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
