Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder with expertise in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and Flux welding to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and safety standards, with the ability to work on various projects requiring high-quality welds. This role involves fabricating, repairing, and maintaining metal structures and components in compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld metal components using MIG and Flux welding techniques, ensuring strong and precise welds for both structural and aesthetic purposes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes, materials, and dimensions.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces before welding to ensure a clean and efficient weld.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy, using tools such as calipers, gauges, and measuring instruments to confirm welds meet quality standards.
- Maintain welding equipment by performing regular inspections, troubleshooting, and ensuring tools are in optimal working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe handling of materials.
- Collaborate with other team members including fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to metal structures and equipment as needed.
- Document work completed and report any issues or concerns regarding the work process, materials, or safety to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with MIG and Flux core welding techniques in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with various metals and their properties (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel).Proficient in the use of hand tools, welding machines, grinders, and other welding equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- welding certification (e.g., AWS, CWB) is preferred but not required.
