Spherion Mid Ohio, in partnership with The JM Smucker Company, is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to schedule order delivery, manage logistics plans, and monitor supply chain performance metrics. This is a 6-12 month contract position to start, but there is opportunity for permanent hire. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain supply chain experience within a Fortune 500 organization!

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure carrier coverage of all shipments from assigned sites
• Monitor incoming orders and schedule order delivery with customers via phone and email
• Communicate with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to execute transportation plans
• Manage and coordinate transportation action plans and performance metrics
• Identify potential exceptions to on time shipments
• Create action plan to resolve complex exceptions
• When shipping is disrupted, pro-actively communicate resolution plans to impacted parties
• Utilize transportation management to provide optimal load solutions based on total cost-to-serve

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree is required
• Strong administrative skills and accuracy
• Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures
• Ability to learn and navigate within several computer systems/platforms
• Strong collaborator and communicator; ability and desire to be a team contributor
• Comfortable with professional face to face, phone, and email communication to both internal and external parties
• Problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and follow up
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant business/office related experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with particular emphasis on Excel (knowledge of using filters, sorting functions, V-look Ups)
