Spherion VT is recruiting for a Systems Administrator to serve as an integral member of our client's Technology & Security Services team in Waterbury Center. You will have the opportunity to install, administer, and support information systems technology to provide essential services for employees and members.

- You will perform all Windows system administration functions including adding and deleting users, e-mail addresses, and providing passwords for employees as well as members where requested. Responsible for ensuring cyber protection by following established protocols for granting or disabling access. Shares Active Directory administrative functions with department members.
- You will perform Linux system administration functions including adding and deleting users, generating and updating passwords as well as printer administration as required.
- You will monitor, use and maintain inventory in the Crowdstrike console including but not limited to investigating cyber security incidents and detections as needed. Installing on new devices and removing old devices.
- You will provide technical support for multiple corporate systems including MV90, CIS, HFINS, Telephone, Mobile Device, video conferencing and building access security systems.
- You will support cyber security efforts including, but not limited to, cyber security awareness, training, and testing. Uses cyber security best practices as outlined by management.
Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Experience using Itron's MV90 software system to ensure data quality, accuracy and integrity.
- Experience performing SonicWALL firewall appliance administration including adding, updating and deleting VPN users as well as creating, editing and deleting access rules for the Authority as well as its members as required.
- The ability to use SQL and Informix query language as well as SonicWall administration.
- Microsoft or other professional certification and familiarity with RedHat Linux.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or other technical discipline with three to five years of progressively responsible related experience or an equivalent combination of technical certifications and professional experience.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, IP routing protocols, Active Directory, MS Office, and web applications.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive relations within the entire organization, and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
