In this role, a shipping clerk will pull items and goods by part numbers, based on a pick list.  The clerk will pack the items to boxes or skids based on the customer's request.  Finally, the shipping clerk will confirm that the order information is correctly input to the computer to generate a shipping label and prepare the shipment for departure.  This is a great temp to hire opportunity for someone to start in logistics and warehouse!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

Education: No Requirements

Experience: 12 months
