Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review weekly payroll and monthly union reporting.
- Conduct job variance analysis and provide detailed explanations of deviations.
General Accounting:
- Complete monthly accounting activities to ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled timely for month end close.
- Prepare, analyze, and review general ledger account reconciliations.
- Manage general ledger entries and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain and update fixed asset records.
Project Accounting:
- Monitor and analyze project budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Work closely with project managers to provide financial insights and support.
- Prepare, review, and submit invoices to clients promptly and with precision.
Skills:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, preferred but not required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred, but not required.
- Union experience/knowledge helpful, but not required. Able to train.
- Construction Software experience with software like HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid, Sage 300 Construction, or Procore, helpful but not required
- Power BI Microsoft experience helpful but not required.
- Experience with ERP systems
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years in a related accounting position will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS office products, Excel expert.
- Banking experience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports, Sales & Payroll.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on detail and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with vendors, management, & colleagues inside and outside the Company.
