Responsibilities:
Patient Care:

Assess patients??? physical, emotional, and psychological needs, documenting all findings.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with healthcare policies.
Monitor patient vital signs, condition, and progress, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
Provide education to patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and health maintenance.
Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions in accordance with best practices.
Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Provide clear and accurate patient hand-offs during shift changes and in interdepartmental communication.
Act as a resource and mentor to nursing assistants and other support staff.
Ensure a compassionate and caring environment for patients and families, addressing concerns and providing emotional support.
Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other health-related laws.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards in daily activities.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to improve patient care outcomes.
Patient Safety and Advocacy:

Identify potential safety risks and take steps to mitigate them, including monitoring infection control practices.
Advocate for patient rights and ensure all patients receive culturally competent and ethical care.
Educate patients on preventative care, disease management, and post-discharge instructions.
General Responsibilities:

Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Assist with the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
Participate in hospital committees, staff meetings, and other relevant activities.
Perform other nursing duties as assigned to support patient care and hospital operations.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Associate???s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor???s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
