Assist in product research and development operations relating to biomedical, R&D, process engineering, and pilot manufacturing.

Supports development activities including feasibility and stability studies, both internal and contracted services.
Supports vendor operations related to external development and testing.

Performs and supports testing required for the development of medical devices.
Supports the development of new manufacturing processes.
Supports the validation and transfer of new manufacturing processes per QSR / cGMP requirements.
Assists in writing protocols, procedures, reports, and other documents, including documentation to support regulatory filings.
Responsible for the procurement, installation, qualification, and validation of analytical and test equipment.
Maintains equipment used for chemical and physical analyses, including calibration.
Assists with creating prototypes for new devices and collaborates with engineers and designers to refine and improve designs.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
B.S. in in chemistry or a related science field.
2-3 years??? experience in the medical device industry.
2-3 years??? experience working in a laboratory setting.
Recent experience in analytical chemistry including FTIR, UV-Vis, and pH preferred.
Knowledge of general analytical chemistry and test methods related to medical devices.
Knowledgeable of GLP / ISO and QSR as it pertains to this job.
Ability to maintain test equipment and perform troubleshooting as required.
Ability to write protocols and procedures as required.
Detail oriented, but aware of the overall picture of the company.
General computer skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project)
Good communication skills: Written and Verbal.
