The Direct Hire Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is looking for an experienced Quality Department Supervisor to play a critical role in upholding excellence within a growing manufacturing environment in Richland County, Ohio. This is a working manager role—fully engaged in the inspection process, ensuring quality compliance, and driving best practices on the production floor. What You'll Do:
- Oversee and conduct all aspects of quality inspection, including first article, last piece, and in-process audits.
- Ensure operators follow work instructions and meet quality standards.
- Perform hourly quality checks, manage calibrations, and maintain precision inspection equipment.
- Identify and root-cause quality issues, working cross-functionally to implement solutions.
- Maintain and continuously improve quality processes, including work instructions and compliance documentation.
- Assist in internal and external audits (ISO, customer reviews, etc.).
- Support customer interactions regarding quality concerns with a solutions-based approach.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 2+ years of experience in a quality-focused role, preferably in metal stamping or metals manufacturing.
- Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills—must be highly proficient.
- Experience in writing and maintaining work instructions.
- Background in using and calibrating precision measuring tools and gauges.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to drive accountability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and gain buy-in from production teams and leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (must be comfortable working within both daily).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is a huge plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is helpful but not required.
- Strong mathematical skills (including trigonometry).
