Ensure safety and compliance by following processes and procedures for product, employee, equipment, and facility safetyStop production or place product on hold for non-compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, or quality standardsLead and direct QA technicians to maintain product safety and adherence to proceduresMonitor hygiene, cleanliness, and SOPs in production areasAssist QA techs and sanitation team during pre-op inspection and production area releaseAct as QA liaison during weekly USDA pre-op inspectionsEnsure completion of required QA forms, HACCP paperwork, and manage sample collections for lab testingVerify scales and thermometers, review HACCP pre-release paperwork, and send formal product release notificationsWrite shift reports on issues, downtime, and relevant information for team communicationTrain and manage QA technicians on quality standards and GMP adherenceFloat between production areas and conduct microbiological sampling (swabs) as neededProvide relief for QA technicians on vacation or PTO and perform other duties as assigned
