The Pathology Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily office activities to ensure efficient operation, work, and information flow between the Pathology Lab department, the Hospital, and Physicians. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a well-organized office and file archives, ensuring that all secretarial and transcription duties required by the department and Physicians are performed accurately and in a timely fashion. Additional tasks include supporting the following key functions of case management, data management, reporting, quality assurance and compliance.
Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
Pay $24-25/hour DOE
Responsibilities:
Case Management:
-Receive, process, log, and track requests for further testing, consults, and second opinions.
-Ensure timely case distribution and efficient workflow.
-Support case logistics and contribute to overall operational effectiveness.
Coordination and Communication:
-Coordinate between different departments and personnel within the pathology lab.
-Communicate with department stakeholders such as pathologists, outside physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
-Maintain a cooperative attitude and support ongoing changes in a professional manner.
Data Management and Reporting:
-Process lab orders.
-Enter results and reports, and add addendums to patient reports.
-Perform follow-up on requests and ensure timely turnaround times.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
-Ensure department procedures and processes meet regulatory compliance.
-Contribute to maintaining consistent quality standards in the lab.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
Software experience with EPIC is preferred
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
-Must have a minimum of one year of medical transcription experience and preferably work experience in a pathology office
-Must have computer proficiency skill to operate a computer, printer and scanner
-Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required include BLS
