The Paralegal role will need to demonstrate effective communication skills both face to face and over the phone. A successful candidate for Paralegal will be organized, pay attention to detail, be independent, with excellent writing skills. The ideal Paralegal candidate will have a strong background in family law, including divorce, custody, support, and domestic violence matters. You will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all phases of case development, client interaction, and court proceedings.

Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare legal documents including petitions, motions, discovery requests/responses, declarations, and court forms specific to family law cases
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court hearing schedules
- Conduct legal and factual research related to family law issues
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Communicate with clients to collect information, provide updates, and support them through sensitive processes
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks
- File documents electronically and in-person with family courts
- Handle service of process, subpoenas, and discovery coordination
- Coordinate with experts, mediators, and court personnel as needed
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment
- Knowledge of local court systems and filing protocols
- Familiarity with electronic project managmen software (Smokeball)
- Proficiency in legal research tools and family law software
- Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with sensitive client matters

Bachelors
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor?s degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program
- 2+ years of paralegal experience, with a strong focus in family law
- Must have experience with drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, extensive client contact, problem-solving, filing, case management, and trial preparation
- Thorough understanding of family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
