Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee warehouse activities in the metals distribution industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating warehouse operations to ensure company objectives are met efficiently and safely, while maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate warehouse activities in collaboration with the Division Manager to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes.
Monitor and improve warehouse performance, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for warehouse machinery and equipment.
Supervise and lead warehouse employees, fostering a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Minimize labor overtime and ensure efficient use of workforce.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and general safety requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by integrating and managing quality control systems. Educate staff on their role in quality management.
Collaborate with division management and sales teams to identify areas of improvement and report quality issues.
Participate in internal quality audits and lead corrective actions when necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
5+ years of experience in the metals distribution industry, including knowledge of processing, machinery maintenance, and crane operations.
A college degree is a plus.
Education:

Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with a background in process management, equipment maintenance, and crane systems
Strong understanding of quality control systems and documentation.
Solid knowledge of OSHA and general safety standards.
Proven supervisory, training, and leadership skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a busy and fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computer systems and related software.
