Shape Policy for the Future of Healthcare:
- As a Policy Analyst, you will analyze and propose changes to coverage and reimbursement policies, diving deep into both the data and the legal framework that guide Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus.
- Youll define the goals of policy changes, identify impacted providers and stakeholders, and synthesize all the background information needed to drive change.
- You'll collaborate with clinical teams to integrate the best medical practices and ensure that policy changes reflect both legal requirements and real-world healthcare needs.
Lead the Charge in Policy Implementation:
- Once policies are approved, youll be at the helm of ensuring they are successfully rolled out. This includes crafting detailed implementation plans, working with technical teams to ensure policies are integrated into the Medicaid -- Management Information System (MMIS), and monitoring the progress of implementation to quickly resolve any issues.
- You'll work closely with communications teams to keep healthcare providers and stakeholders in the loop, ensuring theyre well-informed of any changes that could affect them.
Oversee the Day-to-Day of Healthcare Benefits:
- Your job doesnt stop after implementation. You will ensure that the policies you develop are effectively applied in the ongoing administration of benefits. This includes managing complex questions from healthcare providers, legislators, and other stakeholders.
- Youll be the go-to person for policy questions, drafting responses for senior leaders and ensuring that the operational side of things runs smoothly.
- By managing contracts and coordinating coverage policies with various stakeholders, youll be helping streamline the process, making it easier for all involved to access the healthcare they need.
Be the Expert Everyone Turns To:
- As the subject matter expert for your assigned benefit areas, youll be the one other team members look to for guidance on complex policy issues. Whether its participating in budget discussions, collaborating on legislative proposals, or representing the department in meetings with healthcare providers or public officials, youll be at the forefront of policy innovation.
- Youll have the chance to lead discussions that shape the way healthcare is delivered in Wisconsin, ensuring that policies not only work in theory, but also in practice.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- A bachelors degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in policy or with Wisconsin Medicaid systems.
