Lubricate, clean, align, repair, and replace rolls, filters, motors, gearboxes, and pumps on production machinery.Maintain hydraulic/lube systems (pumps, motors, reservoir, lines, filters, etc.).Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct mechanical problems; maintain plant utilities (steam, air, water, gas, electrical), and related equipment.Perform basic electrical tasks on machinery and equipment (e.g., reset drives, change out motors).Use typical mechanic's tools, inspection gauges, shop math; work from mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, verbal instructions, or sketches.Contact vendors for technical support and information.Work with and have knowledge of water-soluble and oil-based lubricants.Work on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and in confined spaces.Perform math to determine proper components and installation requirements.Perform work of lower skill classifications (no task is too small in the team environment).Function equally well as a team member or leader in self-directed teams of mechanics, electricians, and technical operators.Lead or participate in continuous improvement teams.Assess problems with production machinery/equipment and identify root causes.Perform inspections on machinery and equipment and complete work orders on noted discrepancies.Perform housekeeping duties in the work area to promote a safe environment.Safely operate all equipment and be willing to work in inclement conditions (rain, cold, heat, etc.).Stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and travel about the facility.Lock out/tag out machinery/equipment and verify ZES to ensure safety and prevent accidents.Review PM sheets to identify priorities and schedules.Communicate frequently with technical operators and Electrical Technicians to avoid machinery or equipment issues.Identify and secure resources (parts, tools, personnel) needed to perform repair jobs.Follow HAZMAT and MSDS guidelines when handling hazardous materials.Transport equipment, machinery, and parts using forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.Tools and Equipment Used:Hand and power toolsCalipers, tape measures, wrenchesFork trucks and cranesPLC systems, timers, and calculatorsWork Relationships:
