The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for providing timely repairs, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant equipment. This position requires troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, performing regular preventive maintenance, and maintaining accurate records in our work order tracking and MRO systems.

First Shift: 7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Third Shift: 7pm - 7am, Sunday - Thursday, Rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities:
Oversee maintenance on all machinery during shift
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC issues
Perform and document daily preventive maintenance tasks
Ensure adequate repair parts are stocked and properly managed in the MRO system
Make recommendations for equipment improvements
Assist with set-ups, start-ups, and qualifications
Maintain high standards for housekeeping and safety
Enter and track all work order requests in automated system
Maintain Food Safety Program (GMP) compliance
Detect and address water leaks, air leaks, and oil leaks promptly
Report safety concerns and shut down equipment when necessary
Communicate directly with Maintenance Manager and collaborate with Production Management, Human Resources, Quality Control, Warehouse, and Tool Room

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Various Shifts Available)

Skills:
Experience providing guidance and leadership to peers and production personnel
Experience with automated scanning equipment
Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical machine issues
Experience with preventive maintenance programs
Background in food production or similar regulated environment
Experience making equipment improvement recommendations

Education:
High School

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
3-5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic in a high-speed assembly production environment
Electrical experience up to 480V
Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC troubleshooting
Ability to fabricate and design parts as needed
Proficient with computers, work order tracking systems, and MRO systems
Ability to verify air pressures, water temperatures, and water pressures using gauges
Working knowledge of material load systems and related troubleshooting
Manual dexterity and multilimb coordination
Ability to lift 30 pounds overhead to a height of six feet
Ability to walk and/or stand for 12 hours per day
Forklift certification (OSHA standards)
Strong attention to detail and near vision capabilities
Ability to work well in a team environment
Flexibility for varying schedules and occasional overtime
