A metal manufacturing company in Clare County, MI is looking for Machine Programmers for 2nd and 3rd shift roles. These positions are temp-to-hire, with the potential for permanent placement based on excellent attendance and a positive work ethic. Various shifts for Machine Programmers are: 1st shift: 5:30 am-4:00pm OR 6:00am-4:30 pm ; 2nd shift: 4 pm-12 am regular / OT: 4 pm-2:30 am ; 3rd shift: 9:30 pm-8:00 am. Compensation for general production roles is $15.50/hr to start, but if candidates have the needed experience with machine programming or welding, then starting compensation is $18.50/hr to start.
Interested applicants must possess a HSD or GED, be proficient with shop math, and able to measure to 1/32".
Responsibilities:
- Machine Programmers will be responsible for the unload raw materials from trucks, inspecting for quantity and quality.
- Maintain accurate inventory by labeling and organizing materials in storage areas.
- Enter work orders, packing slips, and other data into the computer system.
- Safely and efficiently deliver materials to production departments.
- Select and verify the correct programs, part numbers, and specifications for each task.
- Check materials before loading into machines, verifying quantities and measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other tools.
- Perform first part inspections and maintain quality throughout the production run.
- Record labor, downtime, and work order details.
- Conduct daily maintenance inspections following a checklist.
Skills:
- Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic geometry).
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to operate machinery in a 3D capacity.
- Physical agility, ability to remain on feet for extended periods, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with machine programming and operation (CNC).
- Experience in blueprint reading, AutoCAD, CNC programming, and thermal cutting equipment.
- Experience using calipers and micrometers.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to measure to 1/32". (Will be tested on this)

- Must be able to work overtime on a consistent basis when given advance notice.
