The Counter and Lead Counter are responsible for the proper set up and running of label orders according to customer requirements, maintaining high levels of quality and attention to safety. In addition to assigned counter jobs the Lead Counter assists the Production Manager in scheduling jobs in the department and assigning jobs to other counters, and performing quality checks of work in the department.

Responsibilities:

• Take customer orders assigned and read each order thoroughly
• Set up machine according to the specifications of the order
• Measure label sizes to set up counter settings and core sizes appropriately
• Run a quality check of each job prior to running a full job.
• Obtain assistance or approvals needed prior to running the full job
• Process the full run of labels according to the customer’s specifications
• Print address label and core labels
• Determine packaging size and quantity if not already provided in the job information
• Package product according to requirements
• Process the inventory according to procedure; larger jobs may need to be placed on skids.
• Complete daily job to job press sheet to track each job

Education: High School

Experience: 12 months

• Printing experience a plus
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read a ruler
• Basic computer skills

Physical:

• Standing and walking constantly
• Lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times a day
