Safely setup, maintenance, and operate die-casting machines according to procedure to produce the goals established for quality and quantity of cast aluminum wheels. Rover may perform other duties as assigned by supervision

Responsibilities:
??? Setup and change dies, and other equipment related to gravity casting machines.

??? Control valves, dials, and computer touch screens of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and set cycle times.
??? Observe meters and gauges to verify and record temperatures, pressures, and cycle times, and make adjustments as necessary.
??? Visually inspect and measure products for surface and dimensional defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and take action to correct any issues.
??? Observe all cooling lines to ensure proper connections.
??? Set up parameters according to check sheet guidelines and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
??? Perform maintenance on dies in casting machines such as greasing, stoning, chiseling, and coating. Also perform general housekeeping and 5S of working areas.
??? Operate torch for die plugging issues, metal spills, etc.
??? Assist in orienting and training associates regarding machinery, equipment, operating procedures, etc. and assist operators in end of shift paperwork, setups, quality, etc.
??? Basic manipulation of robotic equipment, metal saws, and flow form machines.
??? Adjust programs in programmable logic controls and basic trouble shooting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
??? Operator is exposed to indoor work environment with 95?? F temperatures in summer months with working temperatures of 180?? F and more near open casting dies (Furnaces heat molten aluminum to 1300?? F).
??? Spot coolers are provided near each machine.
??? Rover will handle wheels and work in and around dies (wheels/dies may be up to 750???? F).
??? High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), with good arithmetic skill
??? Six months or more of related department experience is preferred
??? Excellent safety, attendance, and above average performance ratings preferred
