The Laboratory Manager is responsible for managing the daily operational and instructional activities at the laboratory. Functions include oversight of all laboratory employees, providing development and consultation for clients, and continued professional development both industry specific and relating to internal business. The Laboratory Manager is also responsible for managing the Integrated Management System at the laboratory.

- Pay rate: $65k -$90k

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Responsibilities:
- Set goals and monitor laboratory productivity, efficiency, and finances for Madison Facility
- Determine current and long-term staffing requirements, Select, train, supervise, and evaluate employees in accordance with procedures and credential requirements
- Analysis of results, including quality and statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations; review, approve and sign Test Reports
- Lead method development, modification, verification and validation activities and participate in continuing training and development programs
- Manage and maintain Integrated Management System
- Provide technical support to clients to maintain positive client relations
- Ensure safety compliance with proper authorities, obtain and maintain all necessary laboratory certifications
- Other duties necessary
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices, and methodology of laboratory operation
- Standard laboratory and quality control methods
- Standard laboratory safety and safe handling practices
- Methods and standards used in testing of electrical insulating materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree of Science in Chemistry or related field;1+ years of related field, or Associate degree with five years experience
- Past supervisory experience in a laboratory environment, overseeing overall operations
- Skilled in Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, Infrared Spectroscopy and various other advanced analytical techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff throughout the company, and with clients in order to develop relationships.
