We are seeking a full time, direct hire Laboratory Supervisor with metal plating experience for our customer in Erie, PA
You will:
· Perform all laboratory functions including but not limited to quality control process sampling, process analysis, process additions, process maintenance, process charting, plating problem solving, and new process recommendation.
· Delegate authority to key subordinate individuals in the production process to accomplish objectives.
· Audit and report on the efficiency of operations.
· Train and mentor others on proper testing techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.· Instruct others in proper use, safety and maintenance of chemical processes.
· Complete environmental reporting requirements as needed.
· Contact and/or meet with chemical suppliers to review new and existing processes as well as troubleshoot problems.
· Manage inventory levels of laboratory supplies and chemicals, and coordinate procurement as needed.
· Be sponsible for each performance review or disciplinary action under his/her areas of operations.
· Keep detailed records of titrations, bath additions, changes, and other information.
· Perform other duties that are considered essential but not listed in the job description, as directed by the president or the production manager.
You will have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred.
· Excellent general math skills.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably within the metal plating industries.
· Proven expertise in conducting chemical analysis, including titrations, and electrochemical methods.
· Be capable of working on your feet and sustained physical exertion for the duration of your shift.
· Have a working knowledge of chemistry and how it relates to the plating process
· Be willing to work overtime including weekends if necessary, based on the demands of the business..
· Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally using the English language.
· Be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
· Be capable of working within the quality system currently used by the company.
· Be willing to work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals in relation to the plating and waste treatment processes.
· Be willing to accept responsibility for and also enforce working in a safe manner in accordance with KPW and OSHA safety and health rules.
· Have the ability to properly wear a respirator.
· Be able to perform all the functions of the waste treatment technician in his/her absence.
· Must be familiar with Hazardous Materials rules and regulations.
· Must have general PC knowledge.
