Altoona Spherion is hiring for a qualified Help Desk Technician to provide technical support and assistance to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues!
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to user inquiries via phone or email to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Troubleshoot hardware issues (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers) and software problems (e.g., operating systems, applications)
- Assist with account management tasks, including password resets and access permissions
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT support when necessary
- Provide basic training or guidance to users on software and system usage
- Maintain and update IT inventory records as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in technical support or customer service (entry-level candidates with relevant certifications may be considered)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and issue tracking
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, averaging 37 hours per week (may include evening, weekend, or on-call shifts)
- Office-based at operations center
- Valid driver’s license with occasional travel between branches
