As the Project Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the successful execution of projects. You'll lead, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day management of our heavy highway construction projects throughout Ohio.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Exhibit an unparalleled commitment to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all project-related tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the estimating group to develop precise project budgets, leveraging keen attention to detail.
- Engage in estimating activities, dedicating a minimum of 20% of time to ensure thoroughness and accuracy in project assessments.
- Utilize past experience in a mid to large size construction company, or potentially a civil engineering firm, to enhance project management effectiveness.
- Demonstrate expertise in reviewing estimates and developing comprehensive project budgets, drawing upon a background in construction or civil engineering firms.
- Assist in developing schedules, phasing, and logistics to ensure project success.
- Manage bid, award, and procurement processes for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Oversee project management tasks including budget management, change orders, invoicing, and profit management.
- Produce and present monthly project reports, schedules, and executive updates.
- Ensure quality control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders, including owners, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Mentor and educate junior team members on project management best practices.
- Participate in project risk analysis, RFQ/RFP responses, and future job opportunity development.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum three years of experience with bridges, culverts, road reconstruction, underground utilities, and site work.
- Level One (minimum) or Level Two (highly preferred) Bridge inspection certified.
- Minimum three years of ODOT experience.
- Comfortable transitioning between being in the field and office-based tasks seamlessly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with accounting and project management software
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
