Position Overview:
As the Lead I&E Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive electrical and instrumentation designs for major industrial projects. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across various projects.
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Hours subject to change based on project needs, potential for overtime)
Pay: $30-$70 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Potential: May transition into a Temp-to-Hire role
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Prepare drawings, specifications, technical calculations, cost estimates, bills of materials, charts, and graphs.
Implement PIP standards within the design environment.
Oversee and review design work for quality, accuracy, and functionality.
Manage CAD administrative duties specific to AutoCAD Electrical.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on project feedback.
Mentor and train junior staff to enhance team performance.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless execution from design through completion.
Independently solve complex problems while adhering to project and industry standards.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Previous experience in the oil and gas or heavy industrial sectors preferred.

Bachelors
Experience:
7-10 years
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in I&E design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D and BIM.
Extensive knowledge of NEC, ISA standards, and industry codes.
Experience applying PIP standards and leading complex design projects.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
