We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely processing of import shipments in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection CBP regulations. This role involves preparing and filing customs documentation, coordinating with government agencies, and working closely with importers and internal teams to facilitate seamless clearance of goods. Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and process import documentation, including customs entries, invoices, and bills of lading.
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule HTS and ensure proper duty and tax calculation.
Communicate with CBP, Partner Government Agencies PGA such as FDA, USDA, and DOT, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
Monitor and track shipments, ensuring timely clearance and delivery.
Maintain compliance with all federal regulations, including U.S. CBP and trade laws.
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to resolve clearance issues.
Manage documentation related to duty drawbacks, customs bonds, and trade programs such as CTPAT and ISF filings.
Assist in post-entry audits, corrections, and appeals as needed.
Stay updated on changes in customs laws, tariffs, and international trade agreements.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring smooth import transactions.
Maintain accurate records of all import transactions within internal systems.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
2+ years of experience in customs brokerage, import/export operations, or international logistics.
Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and import documentation.
Experience with customs brokerage software e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, SAP GTS, or similar.
Ability to interpret commercial invoices, packing lists, and trade agreements for compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Outlook, Word and data entry skills.
Effective communication skills to interact with clients, government agencies, and internal teams.

Qualifications:
Licensed Customs Broker LCB certification is a plus.
Experience with Foreign Trade Zones FTZ or duty drawback programs.
Knowledge of international trade compliance programs such as CTPAT and ISF filing.
Experience working in high-volume logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage firms.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving clearance issues.
