Billing and Invoicing:Prepare and send out patient bills and invoices to insurance companies.Verify insurance coverage and benefits for services rendered.Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate coding and billing.Collections:Follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances via phone calls, e-mails, and letters.Implement and monitor collection policies and procedures.Negotiate payment plans with patients as necessary.Track and document all collection activities and patient interactions.Account Management:Maintain detailed records of all patient accounts, including payments, adjustments, and outstanding balances.Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.Generate and analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts.Work with patients to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.Customer Service:Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding their accounts, payment plans, and insurance questions.Educate patients on their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding billing and collections.Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities and account statuses to management.Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations and best practices.
