Responsible for communicating and meeting daily production schedules as guided by the production scheduling group.Performs set-ups and changeovers on machinery according to manufacturing specifications with the help of team membersResponsible for quality checks and testing of assembled components at end of line assembly process.Requires the ability to identify proper tooling, understanding machinery and product for quality part manufacturing.Utilizes various tools to set-up machinery correctly.Assigns daily duties to team members and ensures team members follow standard work and/or work instructions.Regularly provide input on staffing needs, overtime requirements, component part shortages, tooling, quality and productivity (including equipment uptime).Ensure timely and accurate production reporting.Develops and maintains standard work.Operates equipment for team members during absences.Be able to perform the team leader functions of three departments: your department and the two other departments assigned by the Supervisor or PLM. Respond to abnormal events identified by team members.Escalate abnormalities as appropriate.Ensure 5S standards are met on a daily basis.Oversee continuous training of operators. Provide guidance and leadership in teamwork, production processes, set-up and other items pertinent to departmental success.Effectively work with employees to identify issues and assist in trouble shooting activities for set-up, tooling, equipment adjustments, and other situations as needed.Must be able to perform all quality, SPC and documentation requirements.Team leader is responsible for guiding the team and gathering input from team members ensuring objectives around safety, quality, delivery, and cost are met.Team leaders will provide input into employee evaluations in draft format. Final appraisals will be determined by the Production Supervisor.Occasional travel may be required.Safety Responsibilities:Conduct safety trainings as required.Follow up on safety issues, identify unsafe work practices and work with EHS Manager to resolveNotify appropriate personnel in an emergency situation.Assist employee with completion of accident reports. Ensure reports are completed accurately and submitted immediately but no later than 24 hoursPerform other duties as needed.
