Our client in the food manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY is seeking skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians to join its utilities and maintenance team. This onsite role plays a vital part in ensuring equipment reliability and operational safety for the production of high-demand food products. We are currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Responsibilities:
-Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on utility equipment (e.g., ammonia refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, air compressors)
-Service, repair, and rebuild valves and pumps
-Operate and monitor hot water heaters and perform pressure adjustments
-Complete documentation and logs related to equipment operation, including temperatures, pressures, and run hours
-Monitor and document room temperature conditions
-Respond to alarms and faults, notifying shift personnel as needed
-Comply with all HACCP, GMP, safety, and food safety protocols
-Participate in the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and safety initiatives
-Coordinate work with outside contractors
-Support major and minor utility equipment repairs
-Participate in department communications and safety pillars
Working hours: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Skills:
-2-4 years of direct experience working with NH3 systems
-RETA CARO Certification strongly preferred
-Familiarity with PSM/RMP protocols and documentation
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilities, with a focus in HVAC/R, controls, or electrical
-Ability to pass the RETA CARO certification exam within 90 days of hire
-Proven track record of safe work practices in an industrial or food manufacturing environment
