2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Role Overview:
In this leadership role, you'll be supervising up to 80 employees across 4-7 departments, working closely with another supervisor to ensure production runs smoothly. Your focus will be on creating a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in developing your team, guiding them to meet quality standards, production targets, and customer expectations, while fostering a positive and engaged work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Oversee and direct daily production activities, ensuring your team is aligned with company goals. Engage in cross-training initiatives to increase flexibility and skill diversity within the workforce.
- Production Management: Plan and coordinate daily operations, distribute labor effectively to meet production schedules, and manage performance metrics such as reducing downtime and meeting production goals.
- Safety & Quality Focus: Ensure all safety procedures and regulations are followed, promoting a safe work environment. Drive quality control measures to ensure the highest product standards are maintained.
- Employee Development: Coach and mentor your team, focusing on building a positive work culture. Set clear expectations and provide the tools and training necessary for your team to succeed. Foster open communication and help employees understand the "why" behind their tasks to enhance engagement.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes and eliminate waste using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Report and act on key performance metrics (KPI's) to drive operational improvements.
- Administrative Duties: Send daily employee time records to payroll, complete daily production reports, and assist with corrective actions and terminations in collaboration with HR.
- ERP System Expertise: Utilize ERP systems such as Oracle and JD Edwards to manage production operations and data.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in production supervision, with a strong focus on team leadership and culture building.
- Bilingual (Preferred): Spanish-speaking skills are a plus, but not required.
- Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot older equipment and use ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards experience is highly preferred).
- Leadership & Mentorship: Strong ability to coach, mentor, and lead a team towards meeting production and quality goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma principles to improve processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
