Spherion Believes in Students

Highly involved with her local community, Amari was awarded the scholarship for her philanthropic efforts and impressive academic achievements. Along with maintaining a near-perfect academic record, Amari contributed 1,178 hours of community service throughout her high school career. She participated in countless service projects in Champaign County, including working in soup kitchens, organizing a blood drive, and coordinating Christmas gifts for children in foster care. Dedicated to making the Urbana community more inclusive, she also took the lead in organizing an HBCU college fair. In the fall, Amari will be attending Parkland College to study business administration. Coincidentally, Amari's brother, Jaden, won the 2020 Sandy Mazur Scholarship!

Stopka will be attending the University of Michigan in the fall to begin her studies in environmental sciences and biological engineering. Throughout her high school career, she completed an impressive 464 hours of community service. This past year, Stopka was the lone winner of the Michigan Governor Youth Service Award from her high school. She was also highly involved in a local camp where she served as a role model to the youth of her community while creating positive experiences for them. She hopes to continue to lead others and strives to have a positive impact on everyone she encounters.
