The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Director to support the business partners. This position is responsible for all functional areas of benefit administration, onboarding, electronic personnel record setup and maintenance, FMLA eligibility and tracking along with other leaves of absence, assisting with policy implantation, recruitment, and employment law compliance.
Applicants must be proficient in speaking and writing both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities of the Senior Human Resources Generalist:
Responsible for the set-up and maintaining employment files for all new and existing employees via Vista database.
Enters all benefit additions, changes, terminations in the appropriate website.
Answers employee questions related to benefits.
Audits monthly benefit billing to ensure all eligible employees are active and terminated employees have been removed.
Administers FMLA and other eligible leaves including meeting with employees, tracking time off, and submitting pay information to payroll for processing.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws.
Completes employment verifications for loans, unemployment, and child support.
Provides support to payroll and benefit administration.
Acts as an ambassador to assist and promote a positive culture.
Responsible for completing background checks for all new hires.
Administers the random drug testing program including employee notification and providing the appropriate documents for the testing facility.
Organizes new hire orientation includes orientation scheduling, packets, PPE required, notification to management of attendees.
Notifies DHR and IT to setup/terminate emails from company lists and requests computers for new hires as required.
Assists hiring managers with application/resume review, setup of interviews, and creating offer letters for salaried and hourly employees.
Assists with job description development and review for designated business partnerships.
Follows all safety policies to create a safe work environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field required
Proficient in both spoken and written Spanish
PHR or SPHR certification a plus
Vista software experience a plus but not required
Ability to act with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
Strong people management skills required
Ability to work in a multi-task environment and prioritize workload
Experience in Microsoft Office and Excel required
Able to work in a team environment
Strong business aptitude and self-motivated to work with limited supervision
Great communication skills both verbal and written
Attention to details is a must
Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations required
